True Living Old Karoo Deli & Restaurant

We ate here twice and bought coffee (both to drink there and to take away) several times more. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, the eagle eye of the owners on everything. The coffee was great. My ox tongue portion was so delicious I'd have preferred a portion twice the size : )

What an Oasis. Gluten free options, love in every dish, presentation, ambience, a playground, everything that anyone that loves food and needs a good meal could want. We had breakfast and I will make sure to come back every time I am near Cradock. If you are in the area, don't miss it. You'd be doing yourself a disservice.

The most lovely stop for lunch on our way to Gariepdam. I didn’t realise there are also gorgeous rooms available including a family room (that sleeps 4!!). We had Karoo lamb pizza, Karoo lamb club sandwich and one of the extremely tasty salads. Highly recommend the food, the atmosphere and it was a bonus to meet and chat to Albert who happened to be in the garden. ps if you like gardening you will love their garden, we spotted a King William pear, quince and pomegranate tree. Plus gorgeous rose garden. The main house was built in the 1800’s with many of the original features still in superb condition. I hope you enjoy your break from a long hot journey, just like we did

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ True Living Old Karoo Deli & Restaurant is a fantastic stop! Authentic Karoo food, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and perfect for families with children. The setting is relaxed, the food is delicious, and you really get that genuine Karoo experience. Highly recommended for anyone passing through or looking for a great place to stop and enjoy a proper meal.

From the best home made ginger beer and lemon soda to fresh garden salad leaves (from their own garden) with each dish we had a surprisingly great afternoon. Fresh baked bread and generous helpings of delicious ingredients - we had a chicken salad and the club sandwich but noted many other great options. Great Dely : local lamb and the best chicken sosaties, salads, jam and baked goods. Finally, hosts and staff are friendly and welcoming. Well worth the stop!

Had breakfast here. Very nicr, calm and relaxing atmosphere. Great for kids ro play in beautiful garden. Food was great as well. Vegetables grown in garden. Clean bathrooms.

We always stop here on our way to PE or Bloem. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is great and it’s the only place we can take our German Shepherd to. She loves the space in the gardens and the staff are really accommodating. The drinks are also really refreshing - try the lemonade. Beats any fast food place by a country mile.
